Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Pencatutan Data Pribadi Pada Persyaratan Dukungan Bakal Calon Perseorangan Dalam Pilkada Serentak Tahun 2024 (Studi Kasus Dukungan Bakal Calon Perseorangan Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Sukoharjo)

This study discusses legal protection against personal data misappropriation in fulfilling the requirements for support for individual candidates in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, with a case study in Sukoharjo Regency. In the factual verification process by the General Elections Commission (KPU), people who did not provide support were recorded as supporters, which led to the misappropriation of personal data. This phenomenon raises concerns about the right to privacy and misuse of personal data, which should be protected by Law Number 27 of 2022 on Data Protection. This study was conducted qualitatively with an empirical legal approach. Several related parties were interviewed and applicable laws and regulations were evaluated. The results of the study indicate that there are weaknesses in the personal data protection mechanism in the election process, especially in the supervision and sanctions against perpetrators of data misappropriation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen regulations and increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining the security of personal data throughout the democratic system.
