Article Retraction & Withdrawal
Introduction
Sidoluhur Journal upholds the highest ethical standards in the publication of scholarly articles. In cases where ethical violations or errors in published articles are identified, we reserve the right to retract or withdraw articles to ensure the integrity of the academic community. This policy outlines the circumstances under which articles may be retracted or withdrawn from the journal.
- Article Retraction
An article may be retracted if:
- Serious errors are discovered that significantly affect the conclusions or validity of the research.
- Plagiarism is detected after publication, including self-plagiarism or the use of content from other sources without proper citation.
- Ethical violations have occurred in the research process, such as manipulation of data or unethical research practices.
- Duplicate publication occurs where the article or part of it has been previously published elsewhere without proper citation.
- Authorship disputes arise that cannot be resolved and affect the credibility of the research.
In cases of retraction, the article will be clearly marked as "retracted" on the journal's website, and a retraction statement will be issued explaining the reasons for the retraction. The retracted article will remain accessible in the journal’s archives with a clear indication that it has been retracted.
- Article Withdrawal
An article may be withdrawn prior to publication under the following conditions:
- Author request: The author(s) may request the withdrawal of the article if there are justifiable reasons (e.g., the discovery of an error in the data or methodology that requires correction).
- Pre-publication error: If significant issues are discovered in the article during the peer review process or before final publication, such as major methodological flaws or factual inaccuracies.
- Conflict of interest: If a conflict of interest arises that was not disclosed earlier, and it affects the validity of the article.
In cases of withdrawal, the article will be removed from the online system and the article’s status will be updated as "withdrawn." The reasons for withdrawal will be communicated to the author(s) and disclosed to the public.
- Ethical Responsibility
The responsibility for ensuring that the published work adheres to ethical standards lies with the author(s), the editorial board, and the reviewers. We encourage all involved in the publication process to report any concerns regarding the integrity of the article or the research conducted.
- Communication with Authors
Authors will be notified promptly if their article is being considered for retraction or withdrawal. Clear communication will be maintained throughout the process, and authors will be given an opportunity to respond or provide clarifications.
- Final Decision
The editorial board of Sidoluhur Journal will make the final decision on the retraction or withdrawal of an article based on the severity of the issue and in accordance with the journal’s ethical guidelines. The decision will be made transparently, and the reasons for the retraction or withdrawal will be documented and communicated to all relevant parties.
